Terms of Use — PuzzlePace
Last updated: September 5, 2026
PuzzlePace is an online jigsaw puzzle game operated from Montréal, Québec, Canada. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms.
We are a small independent project. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@puzzlepace.app.
Your account
You must be 16 or older to create an account.
One account per person. Creating additional accounts to replay puzzles, appear more than once on a leaderboard, or get around a suspension is not allowed. We may remove any extra accounts we find.
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account.
The display name you choose must not impersonate someone else, and must not be offensive, hateful or misleading.
Fair play
PuzzlePace is a timing competition, so the leaderboards only mean something if everyone plays the same way.
Only your first attempt at a puzzle counts. You are free to replay a puzzle for fun, but a second time will not be recorded or change your ranking.
You may not:
- Attempt to record or submit a second time for a puzzle you have already completed
- Use scripts, bots, automation or any tool that solves puzzles for you
- Interfere with the timer or submit a time you did not achieve
- Use more than one account to play the same puzzle
If we find a time that was not earned normally, we may remove it from the leaderboard.
Puzzles you create
You keep ownership of the images you upload. They remain yours.
By uploading an image, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize, process, cut into pieces, display and distribute it as necessary to operate PuzzlePace. This includes showing it as a preview when someone shares a link to your puzzle. The licence exists only to run the service. We will not use your image in advertising or for any purpose unrelated to PuzzlePace.
You confirm that you have the right to use the image, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright or privacy.
You may not upload:
- Sexual content, or anything involving minors in a sexual context
- Violent, hateful or harassing content
- Content that is illegal where you live or where we operate
- Images of identifiable people who have not agreed to appear
- Documents, screenshots or files that are not genuine puzzle images
- Anything you do not have the right to publish
You can delete a puzzle you created as long as no one else has completed it. Once another player has recorded a time on it, the puzzle stays online so their result is not lost. Write to us if you need it removed anyway.
You are responsible for the content you upload. We do not guarantee that user-created puzzles will remain available, and we may remove any puzzle at any time, with or without notice, including content that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe creates a legal, security or operational risk.
If you delete your account, puzzles you created stay online so that other players do not lose their own times on them. Your name is no longer associated with them, and the licence above stays in effect for those puzzles. This is explained in our Privacy Policy. If you want a specific puzzle taken down, write to us before deleting your account.
Puzzles we provide
The daily challenges and puzzles published by PuzzlePace use images that PuzzlePace has the right to use, to the best of our knowledge.
If you believe any image on PuzzlePace infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at hello@puzzlepace.app with enough information to identify it. We may remove or disable access to the content while we review the request.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your content is harmful or illegal, or if your use of the site puts other players or the service at risk.
If we close your account for breaking the rules, your times are removed from the leaderboards. If we close it because of prohibited content, we may also remove the puzzles you created.
You can close your own account at any time from your profile.
The service may change or stop
PuzzlePace is a personal project offered free of charge. We may add features, remove them, change how the game works, or stop the service entirely.
We will give reasonable notice on the site if we decide to close PuzzlePace, but we cannot promise the service will be available forever, or that your data will be recoverable after it closes.
No warranty
PuzzlePace is provided as is. We do not promise that it will always work, that it will be free of bugs, or that your times and streaks will never be lost.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada. If a dispute cannot be resolved by writing to us, it falls to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will give reasonable notice on the site or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use PuzzlePace after the updated terms take effect means you accept them.
