Online Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
Most places to do a jigsaw online are single-player and keep no score. You assemble the picture, it says “well done,” and that is it. PuzzlePace is built the other way around. Every puzzle is timed, every finish is recorded, and every puzzle has a leaderboard. This page explains how the competitive side works.
Every puzzle is timed
When a puzzle opens, the clock starts as the pieces finish loading. It runs while you solve and stops when the last piece is placed. Your time is saved automatically. There is nothing to submit by hand for an online puzzle. Because everyone plays the exact same image, cut the exact same way, the times are directly comparable.
The daily challenge
The daily challenge is one puzzle that everyone plays on the same board, so its leaderboard is a straight race under identical conditions. The demo on the home page is a small version of the idea, with 25 pieces and about three minutes, and a good way to feel how the timing works before taking on a full board.
Leaderboards
Each puzzle keeps its own leaderboard: the winning time, how many players have finished, and the average time. The leaderboard area collects the online puzzles alongside past scheduled events, and once you have played a puzzle you can see exactly where your time lands. Leaderboards do not reset, so a fast time stays on the board.
Private challenges with friends
You do not have to compete with strangers. Create a puzzle from any image, switch it to private, and set an access code. Share the link and the code with a few people, and only they can open it. Everyone solves the same board and you compare times among yourselves. The create your own jigsaw puzzle page covers how to make one.
Scheduled challenges
Some events are not play-whenever. They start at a set time for everyone at once, closer to a live race. Upcoming ones are listed on the challenges page. The format underneath is the same: identical puzzle, one timer, one leaderboard.
How the ranking stays fair
For an online puzzle, the ranking rests on two things being equal for everyone: the image and the cut. Every player gets the same picture split into the same grid, so a faster time reflects a faster solve rather than an easier board. The clock is tied to the puzzle itself and recorded when the last piece lands, not typed in afterwards. Scheduled events that end with a photo step are checked before their results are published.
What this is not
PuzzlePace is a system for timing and ranking jigsaw solves, not a large arcade. The value is in the structure: one puzzle for everyone, an honest clock, and a board that does not reset. It is not about crowds. If you like doing jigsaws and want a reason to do them a little faster, that is the whole idea.
